The Ron Feenstra Legacy Fund was established in 2021 in honour of Ron Feenstra’s life and his deep passion for the SunWest Mexico Mission Trip. After first attending the trip in 2007, Ron faithfully served for over a decade alongside his wife, Sheri, leaving a legacy marked by leadership, joy, and genuine care for students. Following Ron’s passing, the Feenstra family felt called to support SunWest Youth Leaders who invest deeply in students and often sacrifice time and income to serve. This fund exists to remove financial barriers for leaders to attend the Mexico Mission Trip, strengthening leadership and creating lasting impact in the lives of students.

The Gary Pearce Legacy Fund was established in 2022 in honour of Gary Pearce’s deep love for the SunWest Mexico Mission Trip. After first attending in 2016 with his son Matt, Gary was profoundly shaped by the experience and faithfully served as a Build Team Leader, encouraging youth, fostering teamwork, and modelling a life of service. His final trip in 2019 included his wife, Monique, and sons, Matt and Zach. Today, the Pearce family continues to honour Gary’s legacy through this fund, which supports and equips Mexico Mission Trip Build Leaders as they serve families in need and invest in students.
